Nov. 17th Meeting - Special Needs Apps: Getting Started, How-To’s and Success Stories
Cristen Reat is a parent of an eight year old son with DS and is co-founder of SNApps4Kids, Special Needs Apps for Kids. SNApps4Kids is a community of parents, therapists, doctors and teachers who share information on how we are using the iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and Android devices with children who have special needs. (www.snapps4kids.com)
Cristen will share her experience of how the iPad has been a useful tool that is helping her eight year old son with DS reach his therapeutic and educational goals. This presentation will focus on creative and practical ways to use the iPad with your child. Cristen will demonstrate apps, and she will offer an overview of how to use the SNApps4Kids website as a tool. Those who are considering purchasing a device, recently purchased one or want to have a better understanding of how it can benefit your child with DS, will find this session beneficial. You do not need an iPad to attend this presentation.
The meeting is at 6:30pm on November 17th at the United Way Building at 1300 Bay Area Blvd. A light dinner will be served and childcare will be available. Please RSVP at www.clearlakeds.org.
