    GHFEDS has been awarded limited tickets to attend the Houston Rodeo and Performance

    Monday March 2nd - Riley Green - 30 tickets
    Tuesday March 10th - Megan Moroney - 25 tickets - Gone
    Wednesday March 18th - Koe Wetzel - 20 tickets

    **Those getting tickets for March 2nd will be meeting up with Kerri Liles to get ticket packets, the other 2 dates will be receiving ticket packets through the mail.

    *You can only pick one date and up to 4 tickets per family. These tickets are for the individual with Down syndrome, the parents and youth siblings only. 

    Packets with tickets and parking pass will be mailed to mailing address listed on your GHFEDS account. Please confirm your address when you log in to register.

    If you are unable to attend the events please notify us immediately so we can offer the tickets to those on the waitlist.

    GHFEDS has received 3 HLSR Lil Rustlers Rodeo tickets to give away to our members.

    You must have a current membership with GHFEDS to register for tickets.

    Lil Rustlers will be held on Wednesday March 11th starting promptly at 430pm.

    Each family will receive up to 4  tickets which includes child with Down syndrome and 3 family members only. In some cases there will be family's that do not need all 4 tickets and extra tickets will be given to family's that request extra tickets, but extra tickets are not guaranteed.

    If you have more than one child with Down syndrome you must register each child separately.

    You MUST participate in the Lil Rustlers Rodeo, the committee counts all tickets given out, if you are unable to attend the event you must notify GHFEDS immediately so we can find a family to take the tickets. 

    *They will NOT be giving tickets out for the performance this year, tickets will only be for the Lil Rustlers Rodeo only.

    Please make sure the participants meet the following criteria:

    1.            Age: between 4 and 10 years of age.

    2.            Weight under 75 lbs.

    3.            Arrive at south end of the Main Arena in NRG Center no later than 4:30 p.m.

    4.            Participant should be able to handle the stimulation of being on the NRG Center Main Arena floor, with cedar chips, lights, cameras, clowns and announcers.

    Special Strong Class

    The class is open for individuals with Ds ages 13 and up.

    Your child must be able to participate with the group, no roaming the gym or getting on equipment for safety reasons. If your child needs assistance you must help during the class due to no 1:1 coaching. 

    *If your child already attends Special Strong Kickboxing or Boot Camp classes Do Not register for this class so it will give others a chance to attend.

    *Wear comfortable clothes, sneakers, and bring a water bottle.

    Adult Social

    Yard Art Painting - Easter Egg

    Sunday March 15th from 1-3pm

    Location:  Warren's Home - 911 Glenlea Ct in Friendswood

    This social is for Adults with Ds ages 18 and up, and parent/caregiver may need to help their adult with painting.

    Limited to 10 individuals with Ds.
    *If you have more than 1 adult with Ds attending please register them separately.

    Please wear clothes that can get paint on them, the paint is permanent and not waterproof.

    This event will be outside on the driveway and there is shade. Fruit and water will be provided. 

    If your adult needs to use the bathroom please be aware there are dogs inside the home but they will be crated and they will bark.

    **This is a prepaid event, if you no show you will be charged $30 to cover costs.  Please let us know if you need to cancel so someone on the waitlist can attend, thank you.

    This social is for Parents Only and includes dinner and drinks, any alcohol will be on your own. There will also be a discussion about future parent socials so bring your suggestions to the table.

    UTMB PT Exercise Class

    March 28th from 930-1030am 

    Location: League City Community Center - 400 S Kansas Ave

    This class is for individuals with Ds of all ages and abilities.

    These classes are designed and led by doctor of physical therapy students and supported by Dr. Laurie Farroni, Associate Professor of Physical Therapy and Pediatric Clinical Specialist.

    These classes are designed to meet participants at their individual levels of development and motor skills, and to promote inclusion and fun.

    GHFEDS would like to invite your family in celebrating World Down Syndrome Day!

    We will be celebrating with a Silly Sock Dance on Saturday March 28th from 6-8:30pm 

    Location: Verne Cox Multipurpose Recreation Center

     Wear your silly socks and dance the night away

     Entertainment includes DJ, dancing, crafts/games and a Silly Sock Parade

    Serving Chickfila nuggets/strips and grilled nuggets, sandwiches, chips, veggie/fruit tray, desserts, drinks and gluten free options available.

    In honor of WDSD, GHFEDS will donate $2000 for Down syndrome research to LuMind IDSC Foundation. The mission and vision of LuMind IDSC Foundation is we accelerate research to increase availability of therapeutic, diagnostic, and medical care options and we empower families through education, connections, and support. We envision a world where every person with Down syndrome thrives with improved health, independence, and opportunities to reach their fullest potential. LuMind IDSC serves as a bridge between the Down syndrome community and the research community.

    Parent Educational Meeting

    Healthy Skin & Everyday Hygiene

    Sunday March 29th from 2-4pm

    A practical workshop for teens and adults with Down syndrome and their caregivers.

    Join us for a practical, caregiver-friendly workshop on skin care and basic hygiene for teens and adults with Down syndrome. Led by Sarah Tucker, an experienced esthetician with a background in beauty and dermatology, this session will cover caring for sensitive and eczema-prone skin, preventing irritation and ingrown hairs, and building simple, comfortable hygiene routines that support health and independence.


GHFEDS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit support organization serving the Greater Clear Lake area, including South Houston, Pearland, Pasadena, League City, Galveston, and other surrounding areas.
