    Please join us for an informative behavior workshop in honor of Eva Marie House.  Eva, a long time member of GHFEDS, benefitted from behavior support and this workshop is funded by an annual grant in her memory.  

    Behavior TLC will host the workshop for parents and caregivers focusing on strategies for making transitions from fun activities to work related tasks, and successful trips to the toilet. Child care will be provided but with a limited space of 10 children.

    9:30-10:30 - Reducing Problem Behaviors When Transitioning from Fun to Work
    Presenter: Kaytlyn Neff, BCBA, LBA, MEd
    Description: Kayt will discuss strategies to decrease problem behaviors when transitioning from enjoyable activities to work-related tasks.

    10:30-11:00 - Break/Light snacks

    11:00-12:00 - Successful Trips to the Toilet
    Presenter: Christine Heath, BCBA, LBA, MA
    Description: Christine will explore effective methods to improve the toilet training process.

    12:00-12:30 - Group Q&A Session
    Description: BCBAs will be available to answer questions about the presentations and address other related topics.

    This social is for Adults with Down syndrome ages 18 and up and 2 parents/caregivers.
    The Adult Socials present opportunities for our adults with Down syndrome to interact with each other, enhance their social skills and build lasting connections.  A parent or caregiver must also attend with the adult with Down syndrome. This social is not for extended family members or friends. GHFEDS will be paying for the Adults with Ds and up to 2 parents/caregivers.

    Please check in at the door with Kim Dunphy before entering the Game Preserve.

    This social includes unlimited game play and light refreshments with gluten free options.

    When you enter through the front door the meeting room will be on the left, there is a maximum of 59 attendee's, registration will close when limit is reached and waitlist will be enabled, this class is for the whole family.

    Families will learn about sustainable lifestyle changes to improve the overall health and well-being of individuals with Down syndrome and the entire family. 

    February’s nutrition class will cover the role of nutrition in our lives and why it is important. We will take a look at a balanced diet and the importance and role of macronutrients (protein, carbohydrates, fats) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) and reading food labels.
