    The Christmas Train

     Saturday December 6th at 530pm
    Location: 1407 Victory Ln in Alvin

    Please arrive by 530pm to ride train at 6pm.

    Meet Christina Filkins at fireplace for tickets and group picture.

    This social is for kids with Ds ages 12 and under.

    Parents and siblings ages 4 and up will be charged $7 each and non-refundable. Kids with Ds and sibs ages 3 and under are free. When registering please choose number of parents and sibs ages 4 and up only.

    This social is for the immediate family only, kids with Ds, parents and youth siblings.

    The family will enjoy a train ride, Elf show and walk through the lights. You are on your own for food and drinks.

    This is a prepaid event, if you no show you will be charged $14 per person to cover fee's.

    Special Strong FunFit Class

    Dates: Saturday December 13th & 20th 
    Time: 2-3pm
    Location: Anytime Fitness - 4420 W Main St Ste B League City, TX 77573

    The class is open for individuals with Ds ages 13 and up.

    Your child must be able to participate with the group, no roaming the gym or getting on equipment for safety reasons. If your child needs assistance you must help during the class due to no 1:1 coaching. 

    *If your child already attends Special Strong Kickboxing or Boot Camp classes Do Not register for this class so it will give others a chance to attend.

    *Wear comfortable clothes, sneakers, and bring a water bottle.

    This social is for teens with Ds ages 13-20.

    Parents and siblings will be charged $7 per person and is non-refundable. 
    Teens with Ds and sibs ages 3 and under are free.

    Do not count teen with Ds or siblings ages 3 and under for total attending during check out, they are free. You will only be paying for the parents and siblings ages 4 and up.

    Meet at Entrance to Lights by Big Christmas Ball @ 6pm sharp to receive your tickets from Kerri Liles.

    Please arrive at 530pm to get tickets from Kim Dunphy
    Group will enter the gardens at 6pm sharp!

    Location:  One Botanic Lane in Houston

    This social is for Adults with Down syndrome ages 18 and up and up to 2 parents/caregivers only.
    First parent is free and second parent will be charged $5 and is non-refundable.

    Parking is $15 and you will be responsible for the parking fee.

    There are a limited number of tickets and tickets are prepaid, if you no show you will be charged $22 per ticket.

    The Radiant Nature walk is about 1 mile long and is accessible for your own wheelchairs/strollers.

  • Volunteers for Step Up Walk

    If you are interested in volunteering for GHFEDS Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk please register here.

    The walk will be held on March 7th 2026 from 9am - noon at Walter Hall Park in League City.

    We will need volunteers to help from 7am - noon with restocking water and capri-sun's in coolers, restocking snacks, setting up walk signs along walk path, hanging banners, placing fitted table cloths on tables, popcorn machine, monitor stage, help manage registration/volunteer/shirt/prize tables, and clean up.

    Each volunteer will receive a walk shirt and breakfast.

    Click on each volunteer job for a description and hours needed. Please bring your own volunteer hours form to be signed if needed.

    Please register by February 2nd 2026!
