GHFEDS would like to invite you to our Parent Educational Meeting about Behavior Therapy for Children with Down syndrome presented by Kari Rote of New Heights Pediatric Therapies.

Childcare will be provided, we will be serving sandwiches, chips, veggies and fruit for parents and chicken nuggets, chips, veggies and fruit for kids.
Attendees will understand causes of challenging behavior, assessment, and basic interventions utilized to intervene with behavior. We will also discuss motivational issues vs. skill deficits and how applied behavior analysis can be utilized to break down complex skills for teaching to mastery. A question and answer session will follow in regards to family behavioral challenges, teaching difficulties, or general ABA questions.
Kari Rote is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst or BCBA with 10 years of experience working with adults, adolescents, and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and Autism. She graduated from the University of Houston- Clear Lake in May of 2012 with a Master of Arts degree in Behavior Analysis and was certified as a BCBA in the Fall of 2012.She has provided consumer focused services in a local school district, in state facilities, in private homes, and in privately owned Home and Community-based Services or HCS group homes and day habs, and at larger residential facilities. Kari sees in-clinic ABA clients at New Heights Pediatric Therapies as well as maintains her own caseload of in-home clients and contracts with school districts for Independent Educational Evaluations.
