The walk will be held on October 27th from 9am - noon at Walter Hall Park in League City.
We will need volunteers to help from 7am - noon with restocking water and capri-sun's in coolers, restocking snacks, setting up walk signs along walk path, hanging banners, placing fitted table cloths on tables, direct parking, cotton candy machine, popcorn machine, monitor stage, manage registration/volunteer/shirt/prize tables, and clean up.
Each volunteer will receive a walk shirt and a cinch sack filled with goodies and breakfast.

Kids with Special Needs are welcomed but on a case by case basis, please call Kids U for questions.
Parents of special needs children should indicate their child’s special needs on the Medical Information Form, which is due to Space Center Houston five (5) business days prior to the first day of camp.
• Once a parent indicates that their child has a disability, impairment, or condition, a representative from the Space Center Houston education staff will contact the parent to discuss reasonable accommodations for the child.

Calling all firefighters aka HEWITT'S HEROES!!
It's a chance to help people, that's what it's all about.
This group would exercise, clean the station, wash trucks, polish Granny, and learn about fire safety and other health and safety initiatives of all public safety divisions. They would learn simple firefighter tasks in a safe environment. This group would not respond to calls, go into training fires, or drive apparatus. "Hewitt's Heroes" which assists in transitioning adults with developmental disabilities into community service through learning about fire safety and assisting with skill appropriate fire station work
tasks. The target age is 18 and up.

We will be meeting upstairs in the Parrot's Nest Palapa Bar on the Crow's side, GHFEDS will be providing the appetizers.
GHFEDS was awarded 25 tickets for 2 Houston Astros games this season, 25 tickets for each game. Please choose 1 game to attend, tickets limited to child with Down syndrome, parents and siblings so other families will have a chance to attend.
You will be receiving a email from the Houston Astros with instructions about printing your tickets or use mobile device to scan tickets.
If you are unable to attend the game please return the tickets through the link that was given in the email and let us know so we can let another family register for tickets.

Join us as we paint with salt! For the first session this summer, we will glue salt down in a cool shape or pattern and then paint over it, giving us a raised surface to paint on. Afterwards, we will choose two colors and put the salt in the paint before putting it on our paper and watch the texture arise and form cool patterns!
Pizza and drinks will be served.

We will be celebrating GHFEDS 10th Anniversary since we were unable to celebrate last summer due to Hurricane Harvey!!
The Nessler Park Family Aquatic Center is an amazing aquatic venture for all ages to enjoy that features a lazy river, flume slides, cool water spa, childrens play area, and much more.
Pizza, snacks, drinks and cake will be provided, feel free to bring your own food, snacks and drinks. NO Alcohol or Glass Bottles allowed in park.
