Come join GHFEDS in celebrating World Down Syndrome Day!
We will be celebrating with a Silly Sock Dance on Saturday March 18th from 6-8pm at The Gilruth Center at Nasa. The center is located on Space Center Blvd between Nasa Rd and Bay Area Blvd, turn into the entrance of the center and it will be the first building on the Left, enter through the lobby and the center staff will direct you to the gym for the dance.
This event is for all ages and the whole family. Wear your silly socks and dance the night away, we will be crowning a WDSD King and Queen who has the silliest socks so be creative! Entertainment includes DJ, dancing, moonwalks, basketball, clown, balloon art and face painting.
We will be serving Chickfila and sandwiches, snacks and drinks.
In honor of WDSD GHFEDS donates $5000 annually for Down syndrome research to LuMind Foundation. The mission of LuMind Research Down Syndrome Foundation is to stimulate biomedical research that will accelerate the development of treatments to significantly improve cognition, including memory, learning and speech, for individuals with Down syndrome so they:
• participate more successfully in school
• lead more active and independent lives, and
• avoid the early onset of Alzheimer’s Disease.
Thank you for celebrating WDSD with GHFEDS!
