  If you are interested in volunteering for GHFEDS Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk please register here.

  
  

  The walk will be held on October 27th from 9am - noon at Walter Hall Park in League City.

  We will need volunteers to help from 7am - noon with restocking water and capri-sun's in coolers, restocking snacks, setting up walk signs along walk path, hanging banners, placing fitted table cloths on tables, direct parking, cotton candy machine, popcorn machine, monitor stage, manage registration/volunteer/shirt/prize tables, and clean up.
  

  Each volunteer will receive a walk shirt and a cinch sack filled with goodies and breakfast.
  

  Click on each volunteer job for a description and hours needed. Please bring your own volunteer hours form to be signed if needed.

  Team Captains will receive 1 free walk sign when your team raises $100 or more. If your team does not raise $100+ or you want extra walk signs you will need to order here, walk signs are $50 each, please send a "Head Shot" photo and Team Name to Elizabeth Stevens at elpool@earthlink.net
  

  Signs will be placed along the walk, please pick up your sign after the walk to take home with you.

  GHFEDS was awarded 25 tickets for 2 Houston Astros games this season, 25 tickets for each game. Please choose 1 game to attend, tickets limited to child with Down syndrome, parents and siblings so other families will have a chance to attend.

  You will be receiving a email from the Houston Astros with instructions about printing your tickets or use mobile device to scan tickets.

  If you are unable to attend the game please return the tickets through the link that was given in the email and let us know so we can let another family register for tickets.

  Come join UTMB Physical Therapist Students and PT Faculty for an hour of games, dancing, and much more aimed at getting your child to have fun with exercise. We plan to show participants exciting and easy ways to get active. Equipment and water will be provided so all we need is your child ready to have fun! Please consult with your physician to make sure your child is healthy enough for physical activity. Hope to see y'all there for a great time of activity and socializing!

  GHFEDS would like to invite you to our Parent Educational Meeting about Texas Medicaid Waivers Explained presented by Heather Burdeaux. The meeting will be held on Tuesday September 25th from 6-8pm at United Way in Clear Lake. The meeting will be held in Room 230 and childcare in Room 233. Dinner will be served at 6pm and the meeting will start promptly at 630pm.
  

  Heather Burdeaux is a CLASS Medicaid-waiver case manager, STAP vendor, and mom of 2 children with Down syndrome. She will speak about various ways to access Medicaid and attendant care.

  We will be serving sandwiches for parents and chicken nuggets and Gluten Free grilled chicken nuggets for children, chips, fruit and veggie tray, cookies and drinks.

The alcoholic drinks or anything else will be at each members cost.

  If you would like your child to participate in the talent Show please email Cynthia Rodriguez, cynthiaa148@gmail.com with the following information.
  
  Name of child.
  What child will be performing - music (Title and Artist).
  You may bring your costume and change at the time of performance or have it on. 
  Perform a solo or with a group. 
  Siblings can perform only if they are performing with sibling with Down syndrome. 
  
  Deadline to have all information in will be September 24th by noon. If your child is not signed up they will not be able to be in talent show.  
  
  If I have more than one request of a particular song you will have the option of changing song or performing with others that chose same song.
